Why Join?

Come and meet us if you want to:

  • meet a friendly and welcoming group, and make new friends
  • see entertaining and thought-provoking speakers and demonstrations
  • get involved in community and charitable events
  • meet diverse and interesting people

What do I get for being a member?

As a WI member, you will enjoy a varied programme chosen by our members; every member can contribute ideas to the annual programme of speakers, activities and events – the options are only limited by your imagination!  We hold eleven or twelve meetings every year and you can also get involved in the various regional and national level events and activities.

Your membership entitles you to eight copies a year of the WI membership magazine, WI Life, as well as regular newsletters and mailings to keep you up-to-date with all the news and events from your WI, federation and the NFWI. You will also receive our branch newsletter, the Whitchurch Witterings.

You will also have the chance to attend the NFWI Annual General Meeting, which brings together representatives from WIs all over the country to review the work of the organisation and vote on the resolutions that form the backbone of the NFWI’s campaigns.

How do I join?

Your first meeting is free and there is no obligation to join when you visit.

The full annual membership joining fee is £44.00 (as of May 2022).

If you are unable to commit the time to attending WI meetings or do not live in the UK, please find out more about the NFWI Associate Scheme as an alternative to membership.
